Inhalation anaesthetic – 100ml/ 250 ml
The most advantageous anaesthetic agent for Neurosurgical patients
- Cerebral protective effect maximal at clinical concentrations has been demonstrated
- Causes little or no depression of myocardial function
- Has the least effect on Intra Cranial Pressure (ICP)
- Autoregulation remains effective at concentration upto 1.5 MAC
- Cerebral perfusion pressure is maintained
- Preserves CO2 reactivity
Ideal for maintenance in cardiac surgery
- Advantageous for patients with pre-exiting cardiovascular disease
- Cardiac output is generally unchanged at 1.0 MAC
- Beneficial vasodilatory effects
- Maintains cardiac rate, rhythm and output
- Supports cardiac function in treatment of operative hypertension.
